Finding the figure in abstraction.

Another in my series of automatic gesture paintings. I call them this because the images are evoked through conscious thought transferred during the process of freely applying the medium in this case oil paint.

As I paint with a conscious idea in mind I let my subconscious mind guide me as I pull out the subject through my mark making. This process allows me to keep a fresh unexpected beauty, and create the most wonderful intricate details of form.

Open your hearts, open your my people and see truly the world around us. And realize our place in it as caretakers or loose we will surely loose this greatest of gifts. the gift of home, our planet; the gift of life, our home, for without it we too will no longer endure as a species.
